[Aracnofilia Web Design Award: Purpose of this award]

This award program has the sole purpose of rewarding outstanding, flawless and sound Web Design.

The evaluation of a web site is certainly not an exact science. Individual preferences and user experiences play a role in the appreciation. Also, specific evaluation criteria must always be considered in terms of how it relates to the purpose of the web site and the desired audience requirements.

Knowing that, this award program will not try to impose our evaluator's personal views on artistic design, color or whatever personal preferences we may think of. Also, we will not seek to reward only those visually outstanding web sites; we seek also to reward web sites that are flawless in many other aspects. And we will keep in mind that a well designed site should be simple, clear, consistent, appropriate, appealing and last but not least, usable.
